Certificate II in Sport Coaching

This qualification reflects the role of individuals who apply the skills and knowledge to conduct pre-planned coaching sessions with foundation level participants in a specific sport. This qualification provides a pathway to work in assistant coaching roles working or volunteering at community based sports clubs and organisations in the Australian sport industry. Individuals with this qualification use a defined and limited range of basic coaching skills to engage participants in a specific sport and are involved in mainly routine and repetitive tasks using limited practical skills and basic sport industry knowledge. They work under the supervision of a coach.

Learners are required to take a Language, Literacy & Numeracy assessment pre-enrolment. This will help us support you if necessary in achieving a successful course outcome.

Course Units
To complete SIS20321 Certificate II in Sports Coaching, learners must complete three (3) core units and four (4) elective units

Training and Assessment
Learners are expected to engage in class/chat sessions on a regular basis, meet course requirements and undertake a certain amount of self-directed preparation, reading and practice at their initiative and in their own time.  There will be a certain amount of practical sporting activities involved in this course, for which learners are to be prepared.

Assessments include observation of performance, short answer questions, quizzes, activity sheets, case studies, role plays and assignment.


Digital Equipment
Learners will need access to a computer equipped with the Microsoft Office suite of programs.
