Certificate I in Construction

CPC10120
This qualification provides an introduction to the construction industry, its culture,
occupations, job roles and workplace expectations. The units of competency cover
essential work health and safety requirements, the industrial and work organisation
structure, communications skills, work planning, and employability skills in context. A
General Safety Induction (White Card) is also delivered in this course, which is an
industry requirement for you to work on a Queensland construction site.

Entry Requirements
Learners are required to take a Language, Literacy & Numeracy assessment pre-enrolment.  This will help us support you if necessary in achieving a successful course outcome.

Possible Pathway Options
Upon completion of this course, learners could apply for an apprenticeship or enrol into a Certificate II pre-vocational program post school.

Possible Career Outcomes
Possible career outcomes include trade assistant and carpentry/joinery worker.

To complete CPC10120 Certificate I in Construction, learners must complete eight (8) core units and three (3) elective units.

CPCCWHS2011 Apply WHS requirements, policies and procedures in the construction industry

Training and Assessment
Learners are expected to engage in class sessions on a regular basis, meet course requirements and undertake a certain amount of self-directed preparation, reading and practice at their initiative and in their own time. 

Assessments include activities, case studies, quizzes, short answer questions, video responses, and observation of performance.

Digital Equipment
Learners will need access to a digital video recording device and/or a digital camera and associated software to save and upload video, image and audio files to Vet.Link.  Software such as Adobe Reader, Windows Media Player, Windows Photo Viewer etc. are available as a free download from the internet.
